An analysis of the modulation system in Vietnamese from a systemic functional perspective and some suggestions for legal translation

Systemic Functional Grammar (hereinafter referred to as SFG) is a linguistic area that has attracted numerous attention from scholars in Vietnam and worldwide. In this paper, we focus on Modulation analysis Vietnamese, including Obligation Inclination, perspective. The qualitative research methodology will be applied explore the aspects of Vietnamese. descriptive language method mainly employed article investigate system Vietnamese SFG viewpoint. data for investigation was collected formal online newspapers recommendation legal translation Singapore Companies Act. results study showed composed two categories: Inclination. Regarding Obligation, it consists four subcategories: necessity, permission, expectation. As inclination, includes Intention Willingness. Then make some suggestions Viet Nam context.
